“I had just moved to the area in July 2022. My tires were leaking air and I found out I needed new tires. Not only did I needed tires , but Tuffy’s did a complete check on my car and found out I had other problems with my car that needed to be repaired. They repaired everything that needed to be done and my 2002 vehicle and my car is running better than has in the last 2 years. The customer service was excellent and their mechanics are the best. I will be taking my vehicle to Tuffy’s as long as I live in the Charlotte area. ”

“I have been coming to the Tuffy on Rocky River Road located in Charlotte, NC since I moved to the area about 3 years ago. Each time that I have had my vehicles serviced here they have made me feel like nothing less than family, even as management and employees have switched out. They make sure to thoroughly inspect every issue and not only fix that issue, but they do a great job of separating what services should be completed immediately versus what services can wait a little longer. This type of service stands out to me because it shows they care about the customer, not just the money. Each Tuffy employee, including management, takes the time out to speak to/greet us waiting in the lobby no matter how busy they are. I would highly recommend everyone from management down to the techs received some type of recognition, even if it is miniscule. I was not asked or prompted to leave this review, nor do I expect anything as a result of it. I just feel that the level of customer satisfaction that this shop provides deserves some type of recognition. I also think its noteworthy that Tuffy has a military discount, as I am a retired Army veteran. Many autoshops in this area do not offer that to us veterans. So I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for that as well! ”

“Ok! Where do I begin? I was staying at an Air BnB with my family 6 hours away from home! I had went to go see the Charlotte NASCAR Light show the night before and hit a curb. I thought I broke my axel! 6 hours away from HOME!!! I took my truck to Tuffy. I was prepared for the worst and was nervous walking in. Lindsay was very nice and knowledgeable when I walked in. I explained to her what happened and asked her if someone could give me a ride back to my Air BnB. They have a complementary Uber!! Turns out I didn’t have to use it but that was a plus!! After about 35 minutes Mitch called and explained to me the sounds that I was hearing. Turns out my 4 wheel drive turned on when I hit the curb! 😂🤦🏾♀️ I was charged NOTHING for them to look at it! “On November 12, 2020 during a torrential rainstorm, I had a flat tire on I-485 in Charlotte near the intersection of Rocky River Road. I was fortunate that Tuffy Tire & Auto Service was near this intersection. During the heavy rain, I pulled into Tuffy, where I was very courteously greeted by Joyce C. After explaining my predicament, Joyce said she would take care of my tire. In less than 15 minutes, my tire was repaired and replaced on my vehicle. “I would give my last experience at Tuffy 10 stars if that was possible. I was having a terrible day and Lindsey and the other staff at Tuffy were fabulous! They really went above and beyond to help me out. My minivan, which is our primary family vehicle, had broken down and when I was driving my husband's car back to meet the tow truck, I noticed it had a tire going flat. My husband called Tuffy and Lindsey told him she would fit me in and I could come immediately there. Lindsey was very sweet and helpful. She offered me her kids' iPad to use since the waiting room TV was down. They plugged the hole and inflated the tire at no charge! The work area supervisor (I'm not sure of her name) was kind enough to do an oil change since we had a road trip planned and we were now likely going to have to drive my husband's car. She did that even though they were really busy, just to save me from having to come back the next day. They recommended a new air filter but when they didn't have the right size in stock and couldn't get one delivered until the next day, she had the technician clean it out really well so it would be in good enough shape till the next oil change. And this all happened at around 4:30pm! They didn't have to fit me but they did and they still did a thorough, professional job even though it was so close to store closing time and they had plenty of other cars to work on. I appreciated it very much because it made a stressful day easier and kept me from having another day taken up with car issues. We only recently moved to Harrisburg and hadn't found a car shop to be "our" shop yet. This experience clinched it and we will definitely return to this Tuffy location for all our car maintenance and repair needs. ”

“Tuffy has always went above and beyond to help service our cars. On my most recent visit to Tuffy, I learned my engine had rod knock and would need to be replaced. With this tough diagnosis... a couple of the mechanics started doing some research and found my 2013 Sonata had a potential recall on it that would be covered. 3 weeks later after going to the Hyundai dealership, my car has a brand new engine thanks to the recall. I probably would have gotten the new engine regardless... but the guys at Tuffy being empathetic to me being told my car was pretty much useless without a new engine and their drive to try find a solution was awesome. I'd definitely recommend Tuffy to anyone looking for honest mechanics.”

“I took my car in for an oil change and to have brakes checked. It needed new front brakes, brake fluid. Kip explained in details I could grasp the work that he wanted to do in addition that would help extend my brakes lifetime. He suggested cleaning up the rear brakes. Then he said the top of battery should be cleaned to preserve it. He found tire wear on inside of wheels, so he suggested an alignment. Matthew performed all the work and test drove the car after each step. I decided to wait for my car, the waiting room was clean, pleasant and comfortable. Latisha was efficient, polite and very professional with all of her customers. She was very pleasant. I highly recommend this service center. ”

They helped my 17-year-old neighbor, who is trying to buy his first car with his hard-earned money, by evaluating the vehicle he wanted and carefully explaining to him how much it would cost to get the vehicle in safe working condition. Not only did they do an excellent evaluation, they seemed to truly care about protecting this young man from being taken advantage of by the seller. It was late by the time we left, but the techs didn't mind taking the time to give this young man some valuable feedback, as if they were looking out for a younger family member. “My father and I were traveling from Pa to Georgia in his Mercedes when smoke suddenly started coming out from under the hood and exhaust pipes. I existed the interstate and pulled into a gas station intending to call AAA. I happened to see Tuffy right next door so I went in and spoke to a technician. Everyone there was extremely kind and helpful. They were obviously busy but within 30 minutes they were looking at our car. “While driving I heard a loud noise from under the hood of my vehicle, pulled over and found that the fan belt had come off. I knew there was a service center called Tuffy at exit 36 on I-485 as I was heading north. I was only 2 miles and decided to chance driving there.
